What if we knew what pizza you were going to enjoy for dinner tonight before you did?

It’s no pie in the sky – it’s ‘pizza maths’ and it all adds up to ‘yum!’ for Domino’s customers across Australia and New Zealand.

The leading pizza company uses smart technology that can predict a customer’s likelihood of purchasing when they visit the Domino’s online ordering website – with up to 98 per cent accuracy.

These ‘future orders’ are then sent to the store and can be prepared before the customer has even completed check out.

“It’s similar to walking into your local coffee shop and your barista begins making your favourite drink before you’ve even reached the counter,” Domino’s ANZ Chief Executive David Burness said. “It’s simply a head start on your order, but it is revolutionising the whole ordering experience.”

It’s not the only innovative ingredient Domino’s uses in its recipe for success.

From insulated Hot Cell bags that ensure pizzas are always delivered piping hot, to advanced GPS technology that helps the store to calculate the best time to prepare your order so it is never left waiting for a ride.

“Nobody wants a soggy or cold meal, which is why your pizza is not going in the oven until we know one of our Delivery Expert’s will be ready to take it directly to you,” Mr Burness said.

An obsession with getting hot and fresh pizzas into customer’s hands as quickly and as safely as possible was what made Domino’s the original Delivery Experts.

“We have always understood that time is the enemy of food, but the race is not on the road at all – it is in the store. We are constantly innovating in this space to reduce the gap between oven and table, using a combination of state-of-the-art technology, super fast ovens, and good-old fashioned hustle.”

He said some customers may be surprised at the level of sophistication that goes on behind-the-scenes.

“If you walk into your local Domino’s store today, it might look like just a pizza shop, but it’s actually a little slice of the future.”
